An unknown female Westbrook Seminary student is photographed on this 1870s carte de visite by H. F. Reed, Main Street, Worcester, Mass. Her long hair is pulled back sharply from her face and made into curls, one of which rests on her right shoulder. She wears earrings, a white ruffled collar and an ascot tied into a bow. A neck chain hangs over the bow. The bodice of her dress is heavily gathered, ruched and pleated.
