Elizabeth (Betty) Bailey (right), Westbrook Junior College, Portland, Maine, Class of 1958, buys her textbooks at the Bookstore in the this black and white photograph by William M. Rittase of Philadelphia PA. Betty holds a copy of British Poetry and Prose as she checks out with a student bookstore clerk.
Pinned to Betty's white blouse is a fraternity pin, which would have been given to her by a fraternity man showing the couple's serious and committed relationship.
