Description

"White mice" and "tin cans" wait on the back lawn to take part in the Westbrook Junior College May Pageant in this black and white snapshot taken by Joyce K. Bibber in 1955. The1955 May Pageant was based loosely on The Wizard of Oz and took place to the south of the larger dormitories.

From 1925, when a May Fete was scheduled, into the 1970s, when it became a simple awards day, a day or a weekend in May was set aside for fun.
