Description

A Westbrook Junior College student sits between two stacks on the floor of the Proctor Hall Library in this black and white photo taken in the mid 1960s. The young woman, dressed in a white blouse with roll-up sleeves and bermuda shorts, sits cross legged on the linoleum tile floor, engrossed in her pile of books. She holds a pencil in her right hand and turns pages with her left.

The library shelves are full and overflowing, and there is a pile of books on the floor, behind the young student, at the end of the next stack.
