Description

Eleven Westbrook Junior College students, members of the Student Council, sit and stand around a rectangular table within the Proctor Memorial Room in this black and white 1969 Tower yearbook photograph. Nine of the young women wear dark blazers with WJC crests on their blazer pockets; two wear white sweaters.

In 1969 the Proctor Memorial Room, named in memory of Lt. Morris Dewing Proctor (son of president Milton Proctor, killed in WWII), housed the Maine Women Writers Collection. Visible to the right of the photo are the MWWC glass book cases and Josephine D. Peary's Arctic shotgun.
