Vitamin D deficiency is common in pediatric Crohn’s disease patients. This can lead to immune system dysfunction and problems with bone growth. Registered dietitians are an essential part of the healthcare team and should have standard guidelines available to assist with the assessment and treatment of these patients.

High blood pressure is usually treated through pharmaceutics medications but research suggests that blood pressure may also be managed through changes in diet through an increase in fruit and vegetable consumption.
The purpose of this study to investigate the correlation of healthy males between the ages of 18-45 years and blood pressure and if lack of sleep of 6 months or greater can lead to Stage 1 hypertension or worse. Studying sleep deprivation and its effects on healthy people can help identify how important sleep is to maintaining overall health.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major public health concern with rising prevalence. Vitamin D deficiency (/mL) and insufficiency (20–29 ng/mL) are common among patients with CKD undergoing dialysis. The objective was to review current research on vitamin D supplementation for dialysis patients and the effect on their serum vitamin D levels.

To develop a possible framework for informing patients with type two diabetes of their potential risk of dementia, specifically Alzheimer’s Disease. Since type two diabetes is still on the rise, this could implicate a major increase in dementia across the population. Implications to assess the public of this research to promote awareness of the risks of type 3 diabetes.
School Lunch Standard Adherence And The Effects On Body Mass Index For 3rd-5th Grade Elementary School Children
This submission is an IRB Protocol design to assess the effect of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program in accordance with the Nation School Lunch Program on 3rd-5th grade children from two separate schools. The study will measure fruit and vegetable intake as well as the correlation with BMI z-score over the course of the SY 18-19.
This submission includes an abstract and poster for a proposed nutrition education intervention for dental hygiene students. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the efficacy of an online applied nutrition course in improving nutrition knowledge and confidence levels in dental hygienists.
What Are The Effects Of Nutrition Counseling Intervention On The Renal Labs (BUN, Creatinine, GFR) Among Mexican American Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease Stages 3-4 At 1 Month, 3 Months And 6 Months?
This is a quantitative quasi-experiment that will use purposive sampling to recruit the Mexican American adult patients diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in Stages 1 and 2 and have not been diagnosed with Diabetes or received nutrition intervention for CKD. The purpose of this research is to identify at what stage nutrition counseling has a significant result on renal labs from patients diagnosed with CKD. The data from this research would provide information needed for medical providers to use in their treatment course for their patients with CKD.
