The Maine Women Writers Collection patio at the rear of the Abplanalp Library is shown in this colored 1987 postcard photograph, bordered in black. Designed to visually connect the Abplanalp Library and the Payson Gallery, the MWWC patio features a trellis on which are the names of writers whose work is in the collection. Those writers' names visible in the postcard photograph are :Chase, Thaxter, Beyer, Millay, Wood, and Jewett.

Printed on the back of the postcard is: "The new Josephine S. Abplanalp Library blends traditional 19th century and modern architecture. Studying, reading, browsing or meeting, Westbrook College students find it a library of style and comfort."
