The words College Offices are barely visible to the left of the Hersey Hall entrance in this 1985 glossy black and white snapshot. The Hersey Hall porch is partially hidden by a small tree planted on the edge of the Campus Green right across from the Hall. When Hersey opened in 1869, the first floor contained the president's office, formal parlors, the bookstore and the library. In 1985 when this snapshot was taken, the first floor contained the president's office, Cahners Lounge and the switchboard.
