Mary Helen wears a fur coat. A turban-styled hat sits on the back of her head and her curled, chin-length hair frames her face. Mary Helen holds a purse on her lap. She wears a wide smile and looks directly at the camera.

According to the 1941 Tower yearbook, Mary Helen majored in Liberal Arts and went on to Jackson College. She was active in the Dramatic Club, Glee Club and the Press Club.
