Description
Seven Westbrook Junior College students sit on the granite steps of Alumni Hall in this candid black & white snapshot, photographed in the mid 1940s. On the back of the snapshot is written in black ink: 1 - Pat Costello '45; 2 - Martha Welch '46; Miriam Hepburn '45; Edwina Hutchinson '45; 3 - Ruth Willey '45; Alice Smith '46; Betty Allan '47.
Four of the girls wear lightweight dresses; two wear vests over blouses, which may be gym uniforms; and one wears a dark blazer with white cording on the lapels. Bobby socks and saddle shoes or loafers are worn by those seated in the front. All seven have shoulder-length hair, curled, and pulled to the side.
