Three Westbrook Junior College students write to their boyfriends while leaning and lying on a Melville House dormitory bed in this 1953 black and white photograph with the following written in pencil on the back: Write To Boy Friends, Melville House; L to R: Patricia ? North Attleboro, Mass. [Patricia Owen Feid]; Norma Strong--Manchester, Conn.; Britt Carlson--Hartford, Conn.
The three young women wear short-sleeve sweaters and wool skirts. Norma has a 1953 Westbrook Junior College beanie on her head. Behind the three, on the wall, hangs a Yale college banner.
