At the 1955 Westbrook Junior College Commencement, President Milton D. Proctor presented Awards; Judge Donald W. Weber, Associate Justice of the Maine Supreme Court, gave the Address; and William S. Linnell, President of the Board of Trustees, awarded Degrees and Diplomas. The unidentified 1955 graduate holding a large silver up in her arms would have been the recipient of the Faculty Cup, the Universalist Cup or the Maroon Award.

All four individuals wear caps and gowns. The three male dignitaries wear hoods, and the young woman graduate wears ribbons draped across her shoulders and around her neck.
