Description

Seated in the central dining room situated between Goddard Hall and Hersey Hall, Westbrook Junior College students are served their dinners by uniformed waitresses who earned their way through college by waiting on table. By the late 1950s and early 1960s when this photograph was taken by the Wendell White Studio, Portland, Maine, there had to be two sittings for most meals.

Student dress rules for meals meant skirts and dresses; slacks and shorts were not allowed.
