Description

Seven Westbrook Junior College retailing students and Margaret Giroux, their faculty advisor/teacher, check audience reaction to their 1967 spring Fashion Show in this behind-the-scenes black and white photo. Five of the retailing models wear skirts or dresses and two wear pantsuits for this vacation-themed style show.

What began as a program called pre-merchandising in the 1940s was mostly retailing in the 1950s and 60s and fashion merchandising in the 1970s. Margaret Giroux had only returned to teaching a few years earlier, after seven years as dean of residence.
