Westbrook College international student Danuta Dembek, Class of 1989, looks over the upper level railing within the newly dedicated Abplanalp Library in this Fall 1986 glossy, black and white photograph which was printed in the 1987 Tower yearbook. Danuta, a Medical Technology major, was one of several international students who helped pack and unpack books and journals in the late spring and summer of 1986 when the Library moved from the Library-in-a-church (Ludcke Auditorium) to the Abplanalp Library.

The Abplanalp Library railing, at which Danuta stands, is on the upper level and overlooks the main, courtyard entrance. When dedicated in October 1986, the upper level portion of the Library overlooking the main entrance contained book stacks and shelved the history (900's) collections.
