Description
Let's Talk Communication is an educational project aimed at promoting awareness and inclusivity around Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) in early childhood classrooms. We partnered with a local preschool classroom to teach students about AAC. We did a read-aloud of A Day With No Words by Tiffany Hammond, followed by a hands on activity where children created personalized low-tech communication boards. In small groups, we modeled how to use the boards, and students practiced communicating with each other in this new way. The project helped normalize AAC use, showing that every child has something to say and that every voice matters.
