Description
Westbrook College's Abplanalp Library and its Maine Women Writers Collection features a white wooden trellis and pergola on its corner patio. Carved into the lintel are the names of Maine women writers who are represented in the MWWC. Visible in this photograph are three names: Millay, Wood and Jewett, standing for Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892-1950), Sally (Sarah) Sayward Barrell Keating Wood--Madame Wood (1759-1855); and Sarah Orne Jewett (1849-1909).
