Description

In the late 1960s, Alumni Hall was refitted as a home for the humanities. This photograph by Ellis Herwig Photography of Cambridge, Mass., shows the tiers constructed to hold student seating within the music classroom. Faculty member Richard Roberts taught on campus, 1958-2001, directing music and giving sections of the culture-oriented history course once required of all students. It was within this classroom, too, that Faculty Senate held its monthly meetings throughout the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.
