Description

Westbrook Seminary, Class of 1916 poses on the campus Green in Commencement caps and gowns. The twelve men and two women wear dark shoes barely visible beneath their Commencement gowns.

Twelve of the fourteen graduates are identified with handwritten names beneath their photos. Those identified are: Dorothy Loud (Lowd), Sydney Trow, Merle Day, Joe Hughes, Mike Darling, Ray Thompson, Clifford Hall, Carl Thompson, Al Lake, John Liscomb, Fred Kay, and Jack Handy. The two unidentified would be: Ernest Taylor Clough and Merton Winfield Towle.

In pencil on the back of the photograph is written: "1st Dorothy Lowd Graduation, Westbrook Sem, 1916."
