Description
Three Westbrook Junior College students join friends at a Bowdoin College House Party in this 1940-41 candid black and white snapshot from Shirley Dean Corse, WJC, Class of 1941. Written in black ink on the back is: Shirley, Bill & Mary Helen, Sam and Esther Kennedy, Bowdoin House Party.
The three young women wear skirts and blouses with nylons and low-heeled shoes. Shirley has added a suit jacket and unbuttoned coat. Their hair falls to their shoulders in soft waves and is parted on the side. The two young men wear slacks, shirts open at the neck, sport coats, and loafers.The five students stand informally in the snapshot foreground before a grove of pine trees--perhaps the famous Bowdoin Pines?
