Description
Westbrook Junior College was the first residential junior college in the United States to offer a dental hygiene degree. The dental hygiene building, later named the Coleman Building, was built in 1961. This black and white photograph from the late 1960s shows the dental hygiene clinic with nine dental hygiene students in white uniforms and banded caps cleaning the teeth of school children. A dentist, back to camera, bends over a young patient in the center of the photo.
