Description
Westbrook Junior College was the first residential junior college in the United States to offer a dental hygiene (DH) degree. The dental hygiene building, later named the Coleman Building, was built in 1961. This black and white photograph from the late 1960s shows the dental hygiene clinic with seven DH students seated to the sides of their school children patients. The DH students wear white uniforms, caps, stockings and shoes. They appear to be showing dental impressions to their young patients.
